Should You Reject a Good Property Because It Is Far Away?

Before rejecting a property because it feels too far away, consider commuting, road access, nearby amenities, lifestyle and your long-term plans.

One of the most common reasons buyers reject a property is simply: “It is too far.”

But far from where?

A property that feels far from your current home or workplace may still be suitable depending on your lifestyle, work arrangements and long-term plans.

As Accra continues to develop, some buyers are considering areas outside the traditional prime locations because they may offer more space, newer developments or different property options. However, a lower price or larger house does not automatically make a distant property a better choice.

Before rejecting a property because of its location, consider your daily commute, road access, transportation options, nearby schools, healthcare, shopping, security and other amenities you regularly need.

Think about the future as well. If you are buying as an investment, the factors that matter may be different from someone buying a home for immediate personal use.

For Ghanaians in the diaspora, this is especially important. A location that seems far when visiting Ghana may make sense if the property is intended for future retirement, family use or another long-term purpose.

The goal is not to convince yourself that every distant property is worth buying. It is to understand why it is far, what the location offers and whether it actually works for your needs.

At Landyn Properties, we help buyers look beyond distance and consider the bigger picture before deciding whether a property is right for them.
