One of the first things buyers notice when viewing a property is the road leading to it. And sometimes, a beautiful house can be located on a road that is still underdeveloped.
So, should bad roads automatically make you reject the property?
Not necessarily.
The condition of the road should certainly be part of your decision, but it should not be the only factor you consider. You should also look at the location, accessibility, surrounding development, drainage, distance from major roads and amenities, and whether there are signs of ongoing or planned development in the area.
Some neighbourhoods develop gradually. A road that is not ideal today may improve as the area attracts more residents, businesses and infrastructure. However, buyers should never assume that a road will definitely be fixed simply because an area is developing.
The practical question is: does the property’s current location work for your needs, and are you comfortable with the conditions as they are today?
At Landyn Properties, we believe buyers should look beyond the house itself and understand the property, the neighbourhood and the road leading to it before making a decision.
Sometimes, the road is a temporary inconvenience. Sometimes, it is a genuine reason to walk away. The key is knowing the difference.
